Montenegro climbs two spots in tourism and travel sector ranking ( 2008-03-05)
| Montenegro was rated 59th among 130 countries in terms of competitiveness in the tourism and travel sector for 2008, in a research carried out by the World Economic Forum (WEF). This is Montenegro's first ranking as an independent country. Serbia ranked 17 spots below last year's 78th, whereas Croatia tops the region by ranking 34th, followed immediately by Slovenia as 36th. Bosnia-Herzegovina was ranked lowest in the region as 105th. Switzerland was ranked first for the second year running, while Austria and Germany held on to the second and third places from last year as well.
