Hungarian-Montenegrin investment conference ( 2008-09-25)
| Representatives of 25 Hungarian companies that operate in Montenegro and a number of potential investors took part in the Hungarian-Montenegrin investment conference on Wednesday in Podgorica. Montenegrin government officials said at the occasion that Montenegro needed great investments, especially in tourism, which also required good infrastructure, so the Government was focused on projects such as Bar-Boljari road. Assistant economic development minister Miodrag Canovic said at the conference that Montenegro was planning to invest EUR 1.4 billion by 2012, and invited Hungarians to invest into the country. According to estimates of the Hungarian Government, Hungarian companies already invested EUR 260 million into Montenegro. Representatives of Hungarian capital in Montenegro, such as Montenegrin Telecom president Daniel Szasz and Sun Resort Hotels director Gábor Tóth, agreed that Montenegrin liberal tax policy was one of its principal advantages.
