Montenegro can become regional business centre ( 2008-10-21)
| On Monday, October 21, Montenegro’s Minister for Economic Development Branimir Gvozdenovic said at a regional conference in Podgorica that it was necessary to remove all business obstacles, strengthen legal security of investors, as well as continue with staff education and reforms in order for Montenegro to become a regional business centre. He added that Montenegro had had a stabile macroeconomic environment for quite some time, and that the further intensity of the economy development significantly depended on investment capacities, or establishing a competitive business environment which would be stimulating. There are many foreign companies operating in Montenegro, and last year the FDI totalled EUR 1 billion. At the moment Montenegro needs to offer new and creative solutions, Gvozdenovic said. The two-day conference was organized by the Ministry for Economic Development and the International Finance Corporation with the goal of promoting business environment reforms in South-Eastern Europe.
