Foreign investors decreased by 5.3 percent ( 2008-08-03)

The data of the Central Bank of Montenegro show that in the first six months, direct foreign investments in Montenegro amounted to EUR 311.5m, which is a decrease by EUR 17.6m or 5.3 percent regarding the same period last year.

Director of the division for the balance of payments Boris Kilibarda said that, even though the foreign investments are decreasing, Montenegro is still among the top economies in transition. Kilibarda said that the mild decrease is not concerning because Montenegro still has a high potential for the inflow of foreign investments, and it is certain that a high inflow will be present on that basis in the next few years.
