Biggest increase in Montenegro and Albania ( 2008-08-19)

The prognosis of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) states that Montenegro and Albania will record the biggest economic growth in the Balkans this year. According to the IMF, Montenegro will record an increase in GDP of 7.2 percent this year, while the Albanian economy will increase by 6 percent.

The IMF believes that Bulgaria and B-H will have an economic growth of 5.5 percent by the end of the year, Romania of 5.4 percent, Macedonia of 5 and Croatia of 4.2 percent. According to the IMF, Serbian economy will grow at the lowest rate in the region, by 4 percent. This year’s economic growth in the entire region will be bigger than last year’s.
