Investors spend millions in Montenegro ( 2008-05-06)

Overseas property investors are pouring millions of pounds into the Montenegrin economy, new figures have revealed. According to the International Herald Tribune, the eastern European country received more than £800,000 in foreign direct investment last year. Much of this was said to be in the real estate sector, with properties on the Montenegrin coast proving to be particularly popular. This could be partly due to the growing appeal of its Adriatic coastline among foreign leisure travellers.
The newspaper said the area has become one of Montenegro's main tourist hotspots, a development which suggests that rental accommodation on this stretch of coastline is in high demand.Commenting on the impact of foreign investment in the country, the International Herald Tribune stated that the country is now enjoying strong economic growth of about 8% each year. Montenegro was recently praised by Amberlamb for offering a number of attractions, including straightforward property ownership rules and a government which actively encourages foreign investment. |
