Deficit of EUR 1.3bn ( 2008-10-31)
| Vice President of the Government for economic policy Vujica Lazovic said that, even though the global financial crisis reflected on Montenegro, it managed to maintain the trend of growth and development, but the chronic problem of Montenegrin economy is the foreign trade deficit which is still high and which amounted to EUR 1.3bn in the past nine months. However, the gross domestic product exceeded the prognoses of 7 percent and amounts to 8 percent in the first nine months of this year. According to the assessments of the International Monetary Fund, the global crisis will start calming down in the second half of next year. (Republika) |
