Austria ready to invest in Montenegro ( 2008-07-23)

Austrian Federal Chancellor Alfred Gusenbauer said that the enlargement process of the European Union has to be continued, regardless of the negative result of the Irish referendum on the Treaty of Lisbon. After the talk with Prime Minister Milo Dukanovic, Gusenbauer said that Croatia was the first country in the Balkans which he sees as an EU member, while he did not state his opinion on the other countries.

He said that they want to keep the European perspective for the entire region and each country should be treated according to its results. He added that Austrian investors want to invest in Montenegro, especially in energy, tourism and road construction.
